Dear SILA members and friends,
We are fast approaching the end of a most eventful year. It has been a tough year. We are plunged into many of the challenges posed by Covid-19 and the affected economic. These are felt at the individual and community level, as well as collectively as a profession.
During this period, the institute has stepped up its digital presence and has offered more links to our partners’ digital contents such as webinars and the such to try to keep everyone abreast of the industry’s development and standards.
We have also written in to Ministry of National Development to voice our alignment and support for the country’s City in Nature vision, and updated them on the challenges the profession currently face, so that the ministry can better support us in this difficult times.
The Accreditation Sub-committee has also provided us some breathing room on our CPD requirements, despite us actually having much more opportunities to attend online programs to upskill ourselves.
On this note, I would like to ask all Members, Accredited Landscape Architects and ABC Waters Professionals to remember to declare your CPD for the year and to renew your accreditation and/or membership before the end of the year.
With the local Covid-19 situation improving, there is now light at the end of the tunnel now. We will return to normalcy. But till then, we will have to hang in there a little more.
Let us pray and hope for an end to the global pandemic soon and let us continue to support each other in our professional endeavours. On behalf of SILA Council, I sincerely wish all members and partners a Blessed Christmas and a Healthy New Year ahead in 2021.”
